IS SKY SAD?

Why do you weep,dear Sky?

In this wintry February weep ceaselessly why?

Don’t you see

To hear thunderclaps naked babies cry?

Hurt with wind-slaps their mothers can but only sigh!

Their tatter’d hut can’t shade them well;

Stop! Or else those mighty rivers swell.

I know,you’re angry;

I know you must be sad;

To see Earth weary and us dirt-clad.

I know how it aches to watch blood gush on her fertile soil,

And prospective joyous days, all end in turmoil.

For now on her dwells desperate foes.

Then, no more will she adorn white when it heavily snows.

I know,you do have every reason to frown,

When you watch beauteous monuments so hastily crumble down.

And soon,there won’t be left one single bower ;

Thus Man will show his pelf and power.

But, of course, he’ll build spears to pierce,

And weapons to strike another’s chest wide apart;

From Earth the last trail of peace will thus,quickly depart!

Don’t weep!

When black chimneys smoke or men hurl dun soot at you,

Or, CFC’s fly unto the blue curtains to bore therein nasty holes few.

Don’t weep!

When each of us will carry a knife;

For soon, without killing one won’t survive!

To see Earth transform

Oh! Please don’t cry!

Lest you will have a swollen eye!

To us other seasons then you’ll no more bring,

From eyes thine if only fountains spring!
